Help William get back on his feet

Hi everyone,

My name is Gabriel Haller. I recently met a nice gentleman outside of the American Legion Post 435 in Edison, at an event of mine. His name is William Reid. After talking for a bit, and offering him some food,, he proceeded to tell me his story about going through the special education system in Edison schools, and how he got to being homeless as of several days ago.

His mother passed away several years ago, and his fiance passed away recently. They were both instrumental in helping him look after himself.

I found out a few days ago that William was told to leave the 1st floor apartment he was staying in, with no place to go. I called him and he told me he was just going to sleep in his car and figure something out. That night was supposed to be 45 degrees and I knew I needed to help him. We discussed calling 2-1-1 and trying to secure help from the shelters around town. He told me that everything was backlogged and it was impossible to receive a call back to get the support he needed.

I immediately got William a hotel room in Edison for several days and am trying to work with local city officials and various charity organizations to help William get back on his feet. He is a good worker and knows how to do manual labor jobs well. He recently had an interview at Amazon and is hoping this pans out well.

Please help me support William's independence and return to good spirits. He is in need of financial help to get him settled and I believe we can make a difference in how William lives the rest of his life.
