Hello friends,

 

I was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2011. I had surgery and radiation therapy in the UK and explored a variety of healing modalities and alternative and complementary treatments. These ranged from hours of medical Qi Gong per day, practising other forms of energy healing, supplementation, herbs, radical diet changes,  and more. I have used the experience to inspire others in their healing and health.

 

I lived well and was seizure-free for ten years having learnt how to use surrender and breathwork to manage the onset of a seizure and avoid convulsion or loss of consciousness.

 

On Christmas Eve an MRI scan revealed a recurrence of what we know from the prior surgery to be a grade 3 tumour with a combination of astrocytoma and oligodendroglioma cells.

 

I had hoped to be able to reverse the disease using an intensive juice diet and along with herbal supplementation. These herbs have been shown in clinical studies to improve outcomes with grade 3 and 4 brain tumours and include Berberine and Andrographis.

 

Following two Grand Mal seizures in one day in July and two partial seizures in one day in August I have opted to proceed with surgery.

 

I am fortunate to have free access to an extraordinary team of nurses, neuroscientists, neurosurgeons and more and underwent a second craniotomy, this time unconscious(!) at St Vincent's Hospital in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia  on Monday September 27th.

Funnily enough, it's just 2 minutes walk from the St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research I was fundraising for as a major donor manager only a year ago. 

UPDATE - The surgery has left me with a lot of fairly severe impairments, weaknesses and deficits. i am now in a residential rehab unit with a team of therapists and physios doing an amazing job helping me recover movement, function and capacity. I expect to regain all function and recover all abilities.
Some of the funds will go towards costs such as modifying my home - guard rails , a ramp and such) such that i can safely return home! For this reason I have increased the target to $10,000

 

support  here will  also help continue the therapies I know to be very potent and effective and to support me in post op recovery. The , juicer, supplementation, consultations have cost over $20,000 at this point.

6 months of supplementation, bodywork, juicing, acupuncture etc post surgery will require around the same investment at a time when capacity to generate income is uncertain.

It's a definite edge for me to open to support in this way. I have crowdfunded creative projects yet this feels more vulnerable somehow.
