My sweet 6-year-old boy, Kylo, broke both bones in his back leg on Sunday while playing with his sister. The only way for it to heal properly is with surgery — without it, he’ll be in constant pain. Otherwise we'd have to amputate.
We were lucky to find a vet willing to work with us, and his surgery to repair it is scheduled for Friday, October 3rd. The estimate is $3,142–$4,220, plus $888 for his emergency visit. Recovery will take about 8 weeks, with additional costs for pain meds, follow-up visits, and gas to appointments. Altogether, we’re expecting about $6,000 in expenses.
We’ve already put as much as we can on CareCredit, but with a baby due in January 2026, maternity leave unpaid, and other medical bills stacking up, we simply can’t cover it all alone.
Kylo is family. He’s goofy, sweet, and always by my side. I can’t bear the thought of choosing between preparing for my newborn daughter and saving my dog’s leg.
Any donation — big or small — will go directly toward Kylo’s surgery and recovery. Even sharing this page means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us give Kylo the chance to run and play again.
