Morgan’s Comics is a woman‑owned, community‑centered comic shop in West Asheville- lovingly known as the Nerd Sanctuary. For years, we’ve been a safe, welcoming space for fans, families, creatives, and anyone who needs a place to belong. From trivia nights and cosplay meetups to kids’ art tables and trading card night to cozy community events and educational classes and, of course, our comics/board games/trading cards/apparel/action figures/plushes, etc...we’ve built something special together.

We’ve weathered a lot as a small business- the 2020 pandemic, the long recovery that followed, and the impact of Hurricane Helene on our neighborhood and our customers. Through every challenge, our community showed up for us, and we’ve worked hard to keep the doors open, the lights on, and the Sanctuary alive.

Today, we’re raising funds not for survival, but for growth.

Our goal is to expand what the Nerd Sanctuary can offer: more free and low‑cost community events, more inclusive gatherings, more creative workshops, more space for connection, and more opportunities for people of all ages to feel safe, welcome, and inspired.
