The relentless bombings, the slow death by hunger and dehydration, the spread of diseases—our mental and physical health are deteriorating with each passing day. There is no safe place left in Gaza, and our future here is bleak. Even if a ceasefire is declared, the devastation is beyond immediate repair, and we are left with no hope of rebuilding our lives in this war-torn land.

In a desperate attempt to survive, we have decided to leave Gaza. But this decision, though painful, comes with its own set of challenges. To cross the Rafah border into Egypt, our names must be listed on the Crossing List—a process that requires a paid permit. The coordinators who control this list are demanding an exorbitant amount of $5,000 to $8,000 per person, and they will not add our names until we can prove we have the funds ready.
