Help Tamika pay for her treatments

“Perseverance is my motto” Madam C.J. Walker. If anyone lives up to that quote it is Tamika Scott. She is not only my work partner who I get to spend at least 48 hours a week with but she is my chosen sister. We have shared a great many triumphs and tribulations the past two years together. My name is Amie and I’m writing this on behalf of my platoon mates, SFHEMS C platoon, in support of Tamika. She is a single mom who is raising two amazing young men. Her boys are her world and you can tell what an extraordinary job she has done raising them from the minute you meet them. They are polite and respectable young men. She is engaged to a wonderfully supportive man, Vern, who consistently has had her back through the whole process. Tamika is a skilled EMT. I had the opportunity to be there with her during her training and see her blossom into the super hero she is now. This woman SAVES LIVES and she does it without wanting or needing any thanks. She shows up day in and day out working hard for the citizens of Wilmington. Over the past several months she has taken on a new role, Breast Cancer Fighter. With that role she has had to deal with fighting physical symptoms of chronic fatigue, nausea and pain. Through all that she has continued to work and I could not be more proud of this incredible woman! We as her coworkers have done as much as possible to help her through this time and now she needs a little more help. The financial burden of the treatments for her breast cancer, even with her insurance, has begun to really mount up with copays being in the thousands for her monthly chemo treatments. She is also on a daily oral chemo medication which is also expensive. We are asking everyone to help Tamika out financially as she fights this disease physically.
