Help TWIN pay for his 21yo Daughter's Funeral

Want to join me in making a difference today? Sol Adventurers is raising money to help Kevin "TWIN" Orange, LA Peacemaker bury his 21 year old daughter, Makeba.  Now, dealing with death  is nothing new to TWIN who can often be found on the scene of gang shootings in LA consoling families who have lost loved ones and pleading the gangs to not retaliate. But this time is different because he is mourning his own daughter Makeba who was only 21 years young.  It is not supposed to happen this way. We are not supposed to be burying our children.  Makeba Bowman was battling Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that attacks the bones and soft tissue around the bones. It was stage 4 and had spread to her lungs. Makeba became an angel on November 30th, 2020.

Makeba was a freshman at El Camino College, an aspiring track star and athletic training student assistant who always beamed a brilliant smile that would light up a room, even through her illness. Not only was she on the Warrior Track team but she was a warrior at heart. Through all the stories about Makeba one thing her dad, TWIN said to me really stood out. He told me how she had come to terms with her death and spent her time preparing her parents, twin brothers and other siblings for her passing. I had asked him what her name means because I have a theory that the names we give our children guide their journey. So, I discovered that Makeba means someone who has the ability to sooth and calm a person in distress amongst other aspiring qualities. Then as I read an excellent article El Camino College wrote about Makeba's transition and the track and field staff who visited her at the hospital early this month recognized that that she was, "more interested in comforting us then us comforting her." She was fulfilling her namesake until the end. Athletic trainer Abi Francisco described Makeba as a," Perpetual ray of sunshine." Francisco said, " The light she carried will never fade and we will always feel the warmth she brought us." To reference the full article from The Daily Breeze you can click on this LINK .

I also wanted to share with you the meaning of Makeba:

A person that is absolutely magnificent in every aspect a human being can be. Someone that is an excellent friend and a fantastic lover. Someone that is trustworthy and honest. Attractive and absolutely gorgeous, with beauty that radiates like the moon. Makeba is a person that is unselfish and understanding. Someone that may get lost in the darkness, but only long enough to bring in the light. Makeba is someone that has the ability to soothe and calm a person in distress. Someone that deserves everything she desires without second thoughts. She deserves the best of the best and nothing less.

Makeba is a unique name for an incredibly special person. Someone that cannot be found anywhere else and no one can mimic.

Makeba is the one and only.

I love her, I love her, for she is Makeba.

We at Sol Adventurers Foundation express our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Makeba Bowman and urge you to contribute to her funeral cost to help ease this heavy burden on the family at this time. Each and every donation makes an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
