Help Support the Family of Violet Ray Caramella Our Sunshine
Donation protected
This GoFundMe was originally created to support the Caramella family after Hurricane Helene brought significant damage to their home (~$2,300 of this was for their Helene portion). Now, in the wake of an even more devastating tragedy, we are asking for help once more.
On June 14th, we lost Violet Ray in a tragic firefighter UTV training accident. She was an EMT training to become a firefighter and died doing what she loved, serving her community with everything she had.
She leaves behind her loving husband and two young children as well as her immediate family, who are now facing the unimaginable. This fund will help cover funeral and memorial costs, a healing trip to spread her ashes in the places she loved, support for her children’s care, and some space to breathe, meals, time off work, and small comforts to ease their grief.
Violet Ray was known as Sunshine at her fire department, and she truly lived up to that name, radiant, warm, and full of life. Her loss has left an incredible hole in the hearts of her family, friends, and the first responder community.
The photo shown here was taken just minutes before the accident, in the beautiful mountains, with her smiling and full of joy. It’s how we will always remember her, doing what she loved, in a place she loved, with her whole heart.
Thank you for showing up for the Caramella family during this heartbreaking time. Your support, kindness, and generosity mean more than words can express.
