UPDATE: Help Support My Mom's Fight Against Stage IV Sarcoma

Just a couple months ago, we created this fundraiser to help my mom recover from what we hoped would be a successful kidney removal surgery. We were optimistic that removing the tumor would give her the chance to heal and move forward with life.

Since then, our lives have changed in ways we never imagined.

My mom has been diagnosed with Stage IV sarcoma after her extremely rare kidney tumor returned aggressively and spread to her lungs, liver, and abdomen lining. Her medical team has explained that treatment is focused on managing the disease and giving her as much quality time as possible.

She has begun intensive chemotherapy, which requires extended hospital stays and will continue every few weeks as long as her body is able to tolerate treatment. My mom will no longer be able to work, and the loss of income has added another layer of uncertainty during an already devastating time.

ORIGINAL: Brenda has always been a strong and resilient person, especially over the past year as she’s faced some major life changes. After losing her job and going through a divorce last February, she’s worked hard to rebuild her life and find stability. Just as things were starting to look up—she had started a new job and was finally finding some steady ground—life threw another curveball.

In March 2026, Brenda went in for a routine CT scan to monitor a kidney cyst she’s had for years. We were shocked to learn that the cyst had doubled in size, growing from 13 cm to 25 cm. Since then, she’s been feeling increasingly sick and bloated, as the mass is now pushing her organs forward and causing daily discomfort. Her doctors have scheduled a kidney removal surgery for April 23rd, 2026, and they’ve warned us that it will be a very challenging procedure with serious risks.

Because Brenda is still new at her job, she doesn’t qualify for short-term disability, which means she won’t receive any income during her 7-9 week recovery. The incision will be large, and she’ll need help with daily tasks as she heals. The bills, unfortunately, won’t stop coming, and the financial stress is adding to an already overwhelming situation. That’s why I’m reaching out for help—to give Brenda the chance to focus on her recovery without the constant worry about making ends meet.
