Hi everyone! My name is Summer, and I’m a good friend of Nikki and Steve. As most of you know Steve has been battling stage 5 kidney failure for a few years now. He finally found a donor and will be having his kidney transplant surgery, tomorrow June 13th. 

While this has been such a huge relief for his family and friends alike, the recovery process after a transplant is a long one. Unfortunately he has accrued substantial debt in medical bills and the after care cost is projected to be pretty high.

I wanted to make this on their behalf to help try to take away some of the financial stress. Whether it’s for his medicines, covering the week he’ll have to stay at the hospital for recovery, or child care. Steve and Nikki have an awesome 4 year old little boy, Liam, who will be out of school for the summer soon. Nikki has taken a significant amount of time off from work to be Steve’s caretaker, and at the same time, she’ll need to care of Liam.

The amount of things this young family has gone through is more than some people go through in a lifetime. Nobody should have to worry about insanely high medical bills, especially when they’re trying to recover from a major surgery. I really just want to give them the peace of mind and allow them to focus on keeping the recovery process as smooth and stress free as possible.
