The Story:
On July 26 my brother Scott was working in 115 degree heat in Phoenix and while moving between landscaping jobs had a flat tire. While laying on the incredibly hot asphalt trying to change the tire he realized something was wrong. He managed to call the Arizona highway patrol and when they found him he was clearly in trouble. They called for an ambulance and when he was rushed to the hospital it was determined he had suffered a major stroke.
Scott is 61 and is now paralyzed on his right side, which will be permanent. He barely survived the stroke and is now working hard on stroke rehabilitation in a rehab center, but has lost the use of his right side.
Scott has always worked outside in active roles, often working 2 jobs to support his family and this has come to and end. He and his family are facing a difficult transition and he is looking forward to going home.
The Need:
This fundraiser is to enable the home upgrades he needs to make it his small home viable and safe for him such as wall and bathroom rails, other disabled bathroom aids such as a walk-in modification to the shower, faucets in the house he can use, entry ramps, and doors into his mobile home that are wide enough for a wheelchair. He also needs to get a wheelchair, an electric medical bed that can be raised and lowered, and other items. He will also need a wheelchair van for safe transportation as he will be unable to safely get into and out of normal vehicles without significant help.
How you can help:
Donations to this fundraiser will go to help make the modifications needed to make his home safe to return to and get the support devices he needs. Thank you for considering this campaign and to all the downers to the campaign as every donation is greatly appreciated.
It would be very helpful and much appreciated if you can continue to help me get word of this campaign out by posting it onto your Facebook timeline and any other appropriate forum .
