Help Save the Summer for NYC kids!
Tax deductible
THE CHALLENGE:
1.1 million NYC public school kids
are out of school for the summer.
Nearly all free and subsidized summer programming has been slashed.
What will happen to our kids?
The elimination of free and subsidized summer programs plus the reduced options for outdoor activities could have been a disaster in the making .
We needed to act. And we did.
We created over 17,000 hours of carefully curated
LIVE, REMOTE, ALL-ARTS PROGRAMMING
FREE for all NYC Public School Kids
From 3K - the most recent 2020 Grads
And your support to keep this program going is invaluable !

With your support we can provide:
5 hours/day
of world-class arts & culture programming
$364/child for the full summer
That literally comes to $9.10/hour
Help us ensure that every NYC public school student - regardless of race or socio-economics -
has equal access to this extraordinary response to the emergency situation our kids and families are facing.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We can't change the the virus, but we can change the way kids are experiencing it.
Because the NYC Department of Education provided connectivity for all students, we have an historic opportunity to create something magical and transformative.
SUMMER IN THE CITY brings together 53 of the city's finest arts organizations in collaboration with The Time In Children's Arts Initiative to create hundreds - potentially thousands - of hours of world-class arts experiences with amazing instructors just like what you saw on this video.
In fact, everything you see in this video can be done interactively.
Kids can work together, music can be made, dancing can be done, minds and hearts can be expanded.
Free, interactive, citywide programming to keep our kids, safe, engaged, enlightened and filled with hope!
But it gets even BETTER!!!
The connectivity that our kids across the city have equally for the first time in history, gives us the unprecedented opportunity to create
a holistically integrated and level playing field
for every NYC public school student.
Should I say that again?
That means that kids in the South Bronx and kids in Staten Island can end up in the same Bollywood Dance class. Or kids from Bushwick can draw comics with kids from the Upper West Side. This is the model for forever.
All kids participating together, working side by side,
in the same interactive, small, virtual classrooms with some of the world's most exciting artists.
YES!!
SUMMER IN THE CITY offers:
INCREDIBLE
FREE
INTERACTIVE
REMOTE ARTS PROGRAMMING
FOR KIDS ALL OVER THE CITY TO LEARN & PLAY TOGETHER!
We are prepared to provide a full summer of dynamic programs - from July 6th to August 28th.
And if we raise enough money, we could be serving as many as 2,000+ students.
The Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, the NYC Department of Education, the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs are partnering with us. We are so proud that DCLA Commissioner Gonzalo Casals, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, Chair of the Cultural Affairs Committee, and Julie Shapiro and Kate Alcorn of the NYC Fund for Education have met with us and have expressed their support for this project that has the potential to change the lives of kids, not just in NYC, but everywhere in America.
Which is why we need YOU!
Help us do what our city’s artists do best: inspire, support, and awaken curiosity and imagination in the minds of our young people.
All of New York City’s children deserve the best we can deliver.
We stand ready and excited to serve.
No contribution is too small and every penny is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
