Help Sam Wybenga with his health battle
Donation protected
This fundraiser has been posted with permission from Sam and Elizabeth, with the goal of offsetting costs associated with Sam's recent diagnosis of a tumor on his brain stem. Sam has done so much for his community, and we are hoping to return the favor to help him and his family through this difficult time.
Sam has demonstrated selflessness and a caring heart, time and time again. He regularly volunteers as an official member through a nonprofit costuming group. Soon after becoming an official member, he quickly took the initiative to join leadership and he now serves as our local chapter President. In addition to their roles in leadership, both Sam and his wife, Elizabeth, volunteer countless hours of their time to help with various club activities.
One of their most recent projects involved contributing time and resources to help build a large prop (a throne!) for the club. This will not only bring a smile to fans of all ages at conventions and other events, but facilitate the club’s fundraising efforts for other nonprofits. After a full day of work in their traditional jobs, Sam and Elizabeth have never hesitated to spend their evening hours helping to complete this project to help out the club.
One volunteer event that is near and dear to their hearts is the DIA “Honor Flight”. This event aims to give veterans the “welcome home” that they never experienced during their time of service. Sam’s own service to the Marine Corps is an yet another example of his selflessness and desire to care for the community.
Details about a treatment plan are currently unknown. While we do not know what that may entail, we can predict that imaging, testing, and treatment will be expensive. Updates will be posted here as more information becomes available.
Sam has a very physically demanding job and we would love for him to take the time he needs to recover without worrying about making ends meet. In addition to covering medical expenses, these funds would help Sam and his family to prioritize time for rest and full recovery.
Our hope is that we can help out this wonderful family that has given so much to their community.
Sam is one tough Marine! You got this, we got your back in this fight!
