The award winning, Saratoga Springs Youth Orchestra, a select string ensemble dedicated to performing beautiful classical music in the Upstate NY, Saratoga Springs area, has a unique opportunity to go to Italy in July 2014. With your donations, the entire orchestra will be able to afford to go to Florence Italy and participate in an invitation only, International Festival of Youth Orchestras. The orchestra will represent Saratoga Springs USA in this prestigious event hosted in one of the world's most historic and beautiful locations. Your generous donations will offset the very expensive costs of traveling from the USA to Italy to perform 3 concerts as part of the Festival of Giovanilli. SSYO auditions and selects only advanced musicians who range in age from 13 to 25 years. Under the direction of Maestro Gioacchino Longobardi the orchestra has developed its own unique sound and interpretation in its performance of composers from the early Baroque, Romantic and little known Neopolitan music period. SSYO was a third place finalist in the National American Prize Competition last year. SSYO will continue to approach more challenging projects and achieve new acclaim through performances at Carnegie Weill Hall in New York City in May. But the crown jewel of an SSYO spring concert season would be travel to and participation in the Festival in Florence Italy. Help the musicians of SSYO to achieve this amazing, once in a lifetime goal. Make a donation today!
