Emergency Surgery for our Kitten

Donation protected
Tuesday we had an emergency with one of our rescue kittens. As you all know, we are your typical "cat nuts" and we found our kitten Raygon this morning with a severely injured, dangling back left leg. We immediately rushed him to the vet, and he has been under their care since then. Sadly, they  amputated his leg because of the severity of the multiple fractures. The cost has (as you can imagine) piled up. We set this page up to give anyone the opportunity who feels led to help us. Even the smallest donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for anything you can do. Some backstory...Raygon and his brother, Snowball, were a just few weeks old when their mother left them at our door. We began feeding them and have watched them grow and leave behind their feral ways. At first they wouldn't come near us, but as the weeks went on they let us pet them and hold them. When winter grew near, we put in a cat door so they could come inside to stay warm. They went from living in our shed outdoors to spending most of the hours of the day inside their cozy new room. They crave human contact now and cuddle and purr and try to follow us into the rest of the house. They have been free to come and go as they please, and then Raygon was either attacked, caught in a fox trap, or was run over by a car. Since he is losing his hind leg, he will not longer be able to go outside because he is unable to defend himself. We are installing new glass doors on our dining room to allow him and his brother more space in our house. The doors will let the kittens and our other cats see each other and learn their scents as we work to fully integrate the four cats. Eventually, they will all have the same living spaces, but it will take time. Raygon will also no longer be able to jump because cats need the power from their hind legs to do so. We will need to have steps and levels for him to be able to act and feel like a normal cat. I tell you all of this because I want you to know how much we value the generosity from all of you to help us make the two kittens safe and secure. Thank you all for the donations and for sharing the link.  The amount of reach that this campaign has achieved is astonishing and the generosity and support we have recieved is humbling. Love, Carolyn and Tony
