Hello, I'm Mohammad Abuajwa from Palestine, and I'm currently in Germany. I am making this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my cousin, Qusay Al-Qomboz. Here's his message to you:
"Hello, my name is Qusai Zahir Abu Al-Qumbuz, a 20-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. Just a few months ago, I was a diligent student, dreaming of a bright future. I excelled in high school with a 98% average, ready to enter university and pursue my passion for astrophysics.
But life decided to take everything away from me all at once.
In the early days of the war, my father went out to get us a bag of flour—we were desperate for food. But he never returned. He was bombed before my eyes, and I couldn’t even say goodbye. In a single moment, I went from being a student with dreams to the sole provider for my mother and five younger siblings.
The war didn’t stop at taking my father.
Our home was completely destroyed, leaving us on the streets with no shelter, no safety, and nothing but the trauma of loss and the fear of tomorrow. We found refuge in a rented house, but we could not afford the rent, food, or even medical care for my little brother.
This is me. I'm 20 years old, and I got a GPA of 98% in high school prior to the war 3 months ago, which fueled my ambition. I used to study astrophysics, but I stopped because of the war and after my university was bombed and my dreams shattered.
This is my younger brother. He's 16 years old and he used to learn embroidery before the war. right now, he's suffering from mental illnesses because of what happened with our father.
He worked in tailoring to help us, but due to the trauma of my father’s death, he now suffers from memory loss and can’t even recall what happened.
This is my brother Bayan. A 12-year-old child who loves to play and loves to live. He used to go to school every day. He, like everyone else, had ambition. Now, he has to endure the suffering of standing in line to fill the water gallons. Isn't that unfair?
Merna, my beautiful, little sister. She is 6 years old. She's also a child who loves life. She also loved her father so much. She misses him every day.
A little girl who used to love school and playing. Now she lives in constant fear. Every night, she asks me, "When will we go home, Qusai?"—but I have no answer.
This is Fafy. My youngest brother. He's 2, and he's suffering from fear of bombings and malnutrition because of the scarcity of food.
We are suffering so much, and the lack of food is not helping. We also need winter clothing and a new tent to protect us from the rain and wind. We need stationaries for our online studies, like paying tuition and getting a decent laptop. That's why I have decided to create this fundraiser. I hope you can help me and my family reach our target.
Every day has become a battle for survival.
Despite everything, I cling to my education. I continue my university studies online, believing that knowledge might be my only way out of this harsh reality. But I cannot work, and I cannot leave my siblings alone.
Today, I am asking not just for help, but for a lifeline for my family.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help us afford rent, food, medicine, and basic necessities.
Every share of my story might reach someone who can change our fate.
We are not asking for much—just a chance to live.
Please, do not leave us alone in this darkness."
All the donations will be sent directly to my cousin, Qusay, via PayPal in order for him to purchase a laptop, and some solar panels and batteries. As well as installing internet. The fees will also be paid to preserve the well-being of him and his family, as well as any costs of tuition. Your donations are much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
