HELP A FUTURE FILM PRODUCER COMPLETE HIS DEGREE

Hello and welcome to the movement! My name is Phoenix and as I stand on the brink of completing my senior year, I could really use your help raising the $10,000 it will take for me to register for the Fall 2023 semester and ultimately complete my undergraduate degree.

MY STORY

I am a proud scholar-athlete from Metropolitan Detroit, attending Howard University, with a TV & Film Major, Playwriting Minor. Howard has not only provided me with a place of belonging and shaped my education but also ignited a fire within me to make a meaningful impact with my experience, and degree. However, my attendance cost has skyrocketed!

I was taught and believe that charity begins at home. I work and volunteer every summer, but while my family contributes thousands per semester, along with my Work Study, scholarships, maxed-out grants, and student loans, I still have a shortfall. As I type this, I am coaching tennis, working an internship, consulting on film projects, and making deliveries...but time is running out!

THE MISSION

Help Phoenix Complete his Last Semester at Howard!

More than 39 million Americans have some college experience but no degree, with completion rates lowest for marginalized communities. Going to college is great, but we also need help to stay in college.

My campaign is borne of my plight and countless others across the nation, as we toil every semester under the weight of the immense financial hardship our education creates upon our families, and it seems HBCUs are hardest hit.

This is more than just a fundraiser; it's an ambitious movement dedicated to sending a clear message: education is a pathway to dreams realized, futures transformed, and communities uplifted, and we are going to raise the necessary capital to achieve it, together.
