Help Newtown BC green after heavy flood damage
Donation protected
Hi. I'm raising money towards Newtown Bowling Club in the heart of the Scottish Borders. As a member the club prides itself on having one of the best bowling greens, not only in the Scottish Borders but possibly Scotland, and it would be a shame if this can't continue.
After a flash flood left the green under a foot and half of water, due to issues out with the clubs control and water pouring into the green from issues further up the village, members came back to find the whole green under a layer of silt and debris, and with alot of work to be done.
Its a small club, and dont have a massive fund so I'm seeking your help to raise the necessary funds to help pay, for not only the clean up but having to hire in contractors to sort out the drains which have highlighted areas the club has in a very old system.
The other issue the club is now waiting on is, have the floods and silt damaged the grass underneath to an extent that the grass could be killed off. Clearning the debris is one thing but, in a worse case scenario the damage caused by the flood will kill the grass, and the club may not be able to continue. As you can imagine "regrowing" a bowling green won't be cheap. Time will only tell of that is going to happen though.
Please help where you can and donate, because without it we dont have a bowling club, which serves not only our bowlers, but also the village of Newtown and the wider bowling community very proudly.
Thank you for your time and also any donation you may want to give.
