May 8, 2025 UPDATE: May 8, 2025 UPDATE: Denny is being moved tomorrow to a rehab facility where he’ll be for the next 12 days and then he’ll be released to come home in hospice care. We’re getting the house ready to accommodate a hospital bed and all of the other things that go along with hospice not the news I know everyone wanted to hear certainly not the news I wanted to hear, but people have been known to live for years in hospice. We’ll just see. I know that I’ll take his best care as I can of him and before I go, I want to thank everyone again for the donations to the GoFundMe page and to the people who sent me money in the mail. It’s made a world of difference in dealing with the undealable. I’ll be sharing it again until I get closer to the goal so bear with me thank you again those who donated and thank you so so much for keeping Denny in your prayers. He needs them now more than ever. God bless.
May 6, 2025 UPDATE

Denny is going to be here at Singing River Ocean Springs, Mississippi until Friday, at which time he’ll be transferred back to rehab for a couple of weeks and then he’s coming home with hospice care. But he’ll be back in our home at least. Please keep praying and please SHARE this fundraiser! It’s going to be a long road. ❤️
May 2,2025 UPDATE:
Denny has a stage 4 pressure ulcer on his backside. This has caused a significant setback in his stroke recovery. Stage 4 is the worst and the complications that COULD happen are not good. It may be May 9th before he can go back to rehab. Thank you for your continued prayers. On our 51st anniversary my husband suffered 2 strokes. One second we’re discussing what we’d watch that night the next second our lives changed. ny is going to be here at Singing River Ocean Springs, Mississippi until Friday, at which time he’ll be transferred back to rehab for a couple of weeks and then he’s coming home with hospice care. May 2,2025 UPDATE:
Denny has a stage 4 pressure ulcer on his backside. This has caused a significant setback in his stroke recovery. Stage 4 is the worst and the complications can be fatal My husband, Denny Powers, suffered 2 strokes on March 24 of this year. Denny played saxophone in various bands throughout the 1970’s, and has a lot of musician friends here. If you ever heard him play or played in a group with him, he needs you right now. Her has a very long road ahead of him and unfortunately, only Medicare at this time. I’ve found him a supplement that will kick in on May 1, but there will be bills incurred since March 24 and since Medicare won’t be paying for everything, we need help. When he is released, he’ll be on Eloquis ($600 a month) until I can find a prescription plan. I didn’t want to ask again, but the next step is payday loans and that’s a never-ending trap. I’ll work to pay back as much as I can. Thank you for your help.
