Help Mshairi with Urgent Medical Needs!

Mshairi Siyanda

Mshairi came DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO LOSING HER LIFE because of blood loss and, in the past year, has experienced debilitating pain.

Did you know that "...by age 35, about half of Black women have had fibroids, and by age 50, 80 percent of Black women have them, compared to 70 percent of White women. Black women are also more likely to have higher fibroid growth than other racial groups." Cited here.

We see so many of our Black mothers, sisters, aunts, and loved ones suffer from the pains of fibroids and other related issues with the womb.

While we may not be able to stop the womb devastation that over 50% of African American women face, we CAN stop the struggles of our beloved sister Mshairi Siyanda.

Who is Mshairi Siyanda?

Mshairi has been an early childhood educator, activist, and organizer for over 20 years and is unquestionably committed to serving her community in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, and New York.

Since her condition has worsened, Mshairi has been unable to do things that once made her happy, like traveling, swimming, going out with friends, hosting events, and working as a performing artist. Her womb health has led to experiencing three blood transfusions in two months, having miscarried twice in 2012, and enduring a myomectomy in 2015.

Mshairi's womb issues have also contributed to mental health issues.

Despite this reality, she has committed to healing her body and holds on to the dream of one day mothering a child and not dealing with constant pain.

Mshairi has been forced to make significant lifestyle changes while balancing the effects of her womb. She is currently a contract worker because working from home is easier for her and her body. Because of her work needs, she is only eligible for Medicaid, and that does not cover the total cost of the medical support she needs.

Because of the constant past sacrifices, Mshairi continues to fight for the life she deserves and the opportunity to have another chance at a healthy womb and a healthy life.

Mshairi has begun her journey of wellness and is seeking donations that will go towards a $12,000 surgery, paying for holistic womb care support, and helping with other expenses during recovery.

She is dedicated to being an example of not giving up hope, of relying on her community's and others' support to help in her time of need, and a testimony of what a little faith and love can do when we work together for our loved ones.

Please make a donation today, share this campaign, and continue to support African-American women in our community who fight for womb wellness!
