My name is Mark Paulson I am Max's brother and have set up this campaign to help him in his time of need.
Max was in a motorcycle accident on the evening of Fathers Day June 16 2019.
A 15 foot wide windrower hanging over the center line of the road hit Max. It was being towed by a pickup on the south 1st street bridge, Norfolk Nebraska.

Max and a friend were going northbound on south 1st street around 9:20pm heading into town and the pickup towing the windrower was headed southbound. It was after sunset as they met crossing the 28 foot wide bridge, yet the driver of the pickup had no clearance warning lights on his 15 foot extra wide equipment he was towing. Max was leading on the inside and his friend was following on the outside. Both Max and his friend seen the pickup approach with its headlights on but could not see the windrower until it was too late to react. Even though at the last second Max tried to swerve to miss it, the windrower caught his left leg almost severing it on the spot. I thank God that his friend and an unknown person who stopped was there and able to place a tourniquet on his leg while waiting for help. That act alone saved Max's life that night. He was life flighted to MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City Iowa.
Max lost over 7 pints of blood that evening. Later that evening into the early hours of Monday he had to have his left leg amputated above the knee. Along with the amputation Max also suffered a broken left forearm above the wrist, a torn rotator cuff of the right shoulder and several lacerations and other injuries. Max was kept under sedation and not conscious for 4 nights. By the 5th night he was semi alert and was finally told of what had happened to him. Max is, and will be, in a lot of pain for quite some time.
This transition period in his life is where you all come in, if you knew or know Max he needs your support and prayers. The future toll that the financial cost of this accident will take on Max and his family is enormous, that is why I am pleading with everyone who knows, knew or cares about my brother to please help with whatever you can afford, it will all go for the support and care and future needs for Max.
I thank you for your prayers and your consideration.
