Hi everyone, Max is in a dire situation and they need your urgent assistance. They have various health issues and comorbidities and cannot afford treatment, food, rent and any personal expenses. All donated funds will go directly to them as treatments will begin immediately and I will update as often as I can. There's unbelievable power in community support and I hope you will share an extra coin if you have it.
From Max:
I left my former job as a result of unfair treatment after I made a sexual harassment report against a senior staff at work. Management protected him, shamed me for enduring a one-year-long sexual assault at work and they further worked hard to ensure it was extremely difficult for me to continue working there so I bowed out, thereby losing an unpaid salary I worked for and my life-saving health insurance benefits.
My health took a diminishing hit as a result and I have gotten worse in one year. I've been taking time to search diligently for remote work but a lot of jobs require physical presence or experience that isn’t on my résumé. I’ve been out of work for over a year now and even though I don't have a laptop and cannot afford one, I’m still applying online with my phone (which went really bad a few months back) in hopes that I land a job I can do remotely.
My rent is due in a month and I’m already late for my January security and water bills. My landlord has been graciously allowing the utility services to continue without interruption but his patience is thinning out.
I am a Queer, Non-binary, #ActuallyAutistic person living in Nigeria, I am also living with Stage 4 - Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis, Fibromyalgia, Sciatica and Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis (IGH). I have been living with health issues for as long as I can remember but only got all my diagnoses as an adult. For the past 12 months, I have not been able to afford expensive tests, scans, treatment or management of my ailments and my health is getting poorer for it. Living with disabilities in Nigeria is living a life of struggle. I have not eaten well in months as a result and have a mounting pile of grocery debt waiting to be cleared.
I have had 1 laparoscopy and 2 laparotomies in the past for Endometriosis management but I end up with a different kind of growth in a different part of my body every year. I currently need another check-up as I am in severe pain and cannot afford any health management including Fibromyalgia, Sciatica and IGH. I always put my health first in all my budget but I haven't been able to do that in the past year because I can hardly afford food to eat or expensive medications. For years, I've had bad chest pains and a migraine that would not go away. I am very ill right now and trying to manage a very frequent, very severe Orthostatic Hypotension and daily nosebleeds I'm currently dealing with. I have a mobility aid I use for movement but it can only do so much for me.
My rent costs €1000 a year, and medical tests, diagnosis and surgery costs as much as €7000 that I don't have and cannot come up with. Electricity, internet, food, security and water bills run into €3000 a year. I need that much help to be able to survive 2022 in salvageable condition as I have absolutely nothing to my name.
I know that this is a LOT to ask for, but any help towards my goal will help me climb out of this hole over the next six months to a year. It’s hard for me to ask for help from anyone with things as small as moving around, preparing my food or getting a shower, so to ask for help with this takes a lot for me. I appreciate any help, including simply spreading the link.
Thank you so much.
-Max
