Help Marie & Ben Make Their Home Livable Again
Donation protected
Marie and Ben are a newly married couple who were so excited to buy their first home in Philadelphia. But shortly after moving in, they experienced a sewage backup in the basement. When a plumber came to inspect, they discovered that the pipe connecting their home to the street had completely disintegrated — a common issue in older Philly homes with clay piping.
As a result, raw sewage is now seeping into their basement, making the home unsafe and unlivable until the pipe can be fully replaced. The repair is expected to cost $10,000.
To make matters worse, they’ve also discovered other serious issues — a leaking bathtub that caused damage to the floor below, and lead paint throughout the house. All of this has left them unable to live in their home and unsure of what to do next.
This fundraiser is a way to support Marie and Ben through an incredibly stressful and unexpected situation. Any help would mean so much as they work to make their home safe, livable, and full of the joy they imagined when they first moved in.
