Help Maple Walk and Live without Pain!
Meet Maple. She was a normal, happy, kitten, rescued with her brothers from a kill shelter in Brooklyn, NY last summer. She was sweet and full of fun. Then, suddenly, at the age of 4 months, she collapsed and was no longer able to put any weight on her back legs.
We discovered that she was born with a birth defect where her knees were attached incorrectly a case of Grade 4 “sub-luxating patellas” – which causes her great pain and she started only to be able to walk like a crab, stressing her hips and legs.
For such severe conditions, surgery is the only possibility to give her back her life and to help her be ready for adoption. Without this expensive surgery, she will need to be put to sleep. We’ve identified the best surgical team in the Boston area to handle the complex operation she needs which will allow her to walk again and to be relieved of terrible pain.
She has overcome a few big challenges in her life but now is facing the hardest hurdle.
Friends like you can enable an expert veterinary team at Angell Memorial to operate on her and after a few weeks of recuperation time and physical therapy, the surgeon believes she will be restored to good pain-free health.
The estimates for her medical bills will total about $5,400 including the presurgical consult, x-rays, bloodwork, her surgery, and follow-up appointments. We will also be doing physical therapy with her for the next 5-6 months. She is a very special cat, who purrs all of the time she is being held and is so affectionate. Let’s help Maple get on to the path of the life she deserves.
