UPDATE: 9/11/2025

★Update on Lisa

Lisa was in the hospital for the last 2 weeks with extreme pain in her back and hips. She's back home now.

praise- that they were able to help her get the pain under control & it's being managed fairly well, but she still has strong pain with any changes in her position.

Lisa is having some blood sedimentation and blood balance issues. Pray for alleviation of the side effects from the strong pain meds, especially constipation and emotional fluctuations. There was a small brain tumor found on MRI. It's at the base of her skull on the left side of the spinal cord.

She has a consultation on Sept 15th about the gamma knife targeted radiation procedure and then 5 radiation treatments they want to do. Even with all these issues, she's much stronger than she has been in several months. Per hospital Docs and PT, she's markedly better, but...

she needs about 3 weeks of good sleep and large amounts of protein.

She also needs to get and start taking supplements recommended by Dr. Schoen. She also needs help with paperwork and applying for SS and disability asap. We are praying for especially for an affordable place to live near Evan.

UPDATE: 7/3/2025

Thank you for your prayers for me -

I was at the hospital all night, went to ER as my back seized up in "off the chart" pain, had CT scan and have several bad fractures, plus probable many more, fractured hip, and increase in cancer

I thought I needed to be either put unconscious or given a spinal block. They however prescribed extended release oxytocin. It is helping. They gave me one single pill as I left hospital at 5:30 am, have to get prescription filled for it. This could be longer recovery than 3 months it took in September when this happened, as have more vertebrae affected and extensive right pelvis involvement.

Lisa McBroom, our dear friend of 13 years, is in very real need of financial assistance. Lisa’s ex-husband decided after 20 years of marriage (1-1/2 yrs ago) that he didn't want to be married. He filed to divorce her while she was battling STAGE FOUR bone cancer. He also prevented Lisa from obtaining adequate cancer care in the 3 years prior to him divorcing her. Lisa is not working currently due to her limitations from cancer and treatment appointments.

Health insurance isn’t covering all the treatments and medications she needs to fight to stay alive. Over the next year, the cost of her needed uninsured medical treatments could cost a minimum of $20,000.

Lisa will be looking for a new place to live within the next month. She cannot afford her bills let alone treatment to stay alive.

Lisa's cancer causes a lot of physical pain. In the past 4 years she has been unable to do many simple things like cook or clean for herself and she has needed assistance. She has had broken back vertebrae multiple times recently from prior chemotherapy and she also has limited flexibility, such as she cannot reach the floor because of cancer caused injuries to her right hip. She is unable to work.

Lisa has been improving since last fall and plans to start home businesses when stronger, but she has new cancer showing in February 2025 in her right lung. She has decreasing cancer in her right hip and lower back, and two re-broken vertebrae.

We are humbly asking for you to donate whatever you are able to, and to share this post. Lisa is full of life and has a will to live and CAN beat cancer if she is able to pay for treatment and housing.
