Four weeks ago, our beautiful friend Lauren received the shocking news that her Lymphoma had returned and has now spread extensively throughout her body. As many will know, Lauren had been bravely fighting Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma since January of this year and after 6 rounds of gruelling chemotherapy, by July she had kicked it to the curb and was given the incredible news that she was in remission. Unfortunately, her remission status was devastatingly short lived as she now finds herself back in hospital and staring down another fight against this rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Lauren has faced her diagnosis with an enormous amount of courage and bravery and although currently classified as stage four, she is using every bit of strength and willpower she has to get through this for the second time.

Lauren’s first round of chemotherapy failed and her tumours did not respond to the treatment, which has been incredibly tough, both physically and emotionally. She has now commenced a new combination of chemotherapy drugs in conjunction with an ALK Inhibitor, which has only been trialled by less than 10 people world wide with the same type of cancer. She has a long and hard road ahead with several rounds of chemotherapy already planned, along with a debilitating bone marrow transplant scheduled for the end of her treatment.

To give her the best chance to beat this, we want to make sure Lauren has access to the absolute best care possible and can engage with any lifestyle interventions or natural and holistic therapies that could help her along her journey to recovery.

Unfortunately Lauren does not have any income protection or life insurance and this journey is not only brutal on the body, but it is also hugely expensive and her ability to work and generate any income is going to be impacted for some time.

This is where we come in, her friends and family who love her, to wrap our arms around her and Josh and do the best we can to take the financial stress out of this situation and ensure that Lauren is only focused on her health and spending time with those that matter most, making memories and enjoying life.
