Hi, my name is Keith, and I'm reaching out from Canandaigua, NY, for urgent help during a critical moment in my life. I've been through a challenging year of job loss, medical issues, and unexpected setbacks, and I'm now facing eviction.
My Story
In the past year, I was laid off for medical reasons and then became the victim of a job scam. I even had a promising job offer with a start date, only to have it suddenly rescinded without explanation. All of this came after a period of unpaid wages from a previous job, which has left me in a deep financial hole.
I manage several progressive health conditions, including severe arthritis, cervical dystonia, Hashimoto’s disease, and major depression, which have made it incredibly difficult to find stable work. I've applied for unemployment, but I've been told I don't qualify.
Through all of this, I've worked hard on my recovery and have been sober for four years as a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. It’s a huge part of my life and has given me the strength to keep going.
Music has always been my passion—I’ve been a working drummer since I was three. But to survive, I had to make the devastating decision to sell all my drums for a fraction of their value. It was a heartbreaking moment, but it was necessary to get by.
How You Can Help
I have a new, promising job starting on September 17th. If I can cover my rent and utilities until then, I’ll be able to get back on my feet and regain my independence. Your support will go directly toward these urgent costs and will help me avoid homelessness.
I also need to get to and from work, but my car is in bad shape and needs some essential repairs. In addition, the work I do in video editing and motion graphics requires a reliable computer. My current laptop has a nearly dead battery and broken keys, and it’s too outdated to handle the demands of professional work. Getting a new computer would be a huge step toward building a stable future in my field.
Any amount you can donate, no matter how small, will make a real difference. If you're unable to contribute, please consider sharing my story with your friends and family.
Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your willingness to help.
