Help My Family Rebuild After a Devastating Flood in Alamo, TX

On March 27th, my home in Alamo was hit by record-breaking rainfall. I live in one of the most flood-prone areas of the city, where waters rise every few years and we start over again each time. But nothing could have prepared us for this.

This time, we lost everything.

Water took over our home knee-high inside, waist-deep outside. As people drove by, the waves created by their cars washed away our home. In just a few hours, every room was filled with water, every memory, every belonging, everything we’ve built over the years, gone.

I packed up my children, our pets, and what was left of our life into just five backpacks.

We are now displaced.

We have no place to go, no home to return to, and no clear idea of what comes next. But what we do have is strength, love, and resilience. After 15 years of devastation, we are ready, not just to rebuild again, but to move somewhere safer for our family’s future.
