Joy St. Pierre is in the fight of her life. She has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), which advanced from her blood disorder, Polycythemia Vera.
Good news to share: Thanks to Joy’s treatment, which has been made possible by the incredible generosity of family and friends through your donations, her liver function has improved significantly and a surgical intervention is no longer necessary. Joy does not need a liver transplant.
Her updated treatment plan is:
- First, a bone marrow transplant
- Then, a stem cell transplant
Each step comes with its own long recovery period, and each one is unimaginably expensive. On top of this, Joy’s insurance does not cover specialty cancer drugs, which are a critical part of her treatment.
Joy is more than her diagnosis. She is a loving and devoted mother of 3 children.
As many of you know, when serious illness strikes, both medical bills and everyday expenses pile up quickly — creating stress at a time when the focus should be on healing.
