Dear friends, supporters, and kind-hearted strangers,

Many of you have already joined in championing Joshua Mbogoli, the dedicated 23 year old founder of Tenderhearts Children Initiative in Buwofu, Uganda, as he empowers and supports the orphaned children in his community

As a former orphan himself—abandoned as a small child and left to survive all alone, Joshua has turned his pain into purpose. Instead of letting his past define him, he’s tirelessly worked to provide shelter, education, food, and love to the orphaned and marginalized children in his rural community. His vision is to build a learning hub and community care space where these kids can thrive, empowered by access to learning, nutritious food and mentorship.

But right now, Joshua needs our help more than ever after a devastating accident.

(This photo is of Joshua the first day he was in the Rural Referral Hospital in Bugiri, with very limited resources)

The Incident and His Journey So Far:

December 21 2025, an oncoming drunk driver pushed Joshua's motorbike from the road. The crash resulted in a head injury, muscle damage to his right arm and leg, and rapidly worsening hearing loss. He survived two nights in agony at a local referral hospital, but his condition quickly became critical. He was transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Kampala, where the medical team acted swiftly, conducting a series of tests and placing him in a medically induced coma to allow his brain to heal. For three days, he was under close care in this state, giving his body the rest it desperately needed.

He slowly emerged from the coma and began to recovery his strength. Due to the cost of being in a private hospital (which was the only way to receive the life saving care needed) he quickly learned the skills needed to care for himself through recovering and once he could walk with a brace and crutch he was released to home.

Thanks to the generous support of this community - Joshua receievd everything he needed to make a ful physicsl recovery as of 2 months since the accident.

However, full mental recovery is taking a little longer - this includes endurance to process a lot of logical information, tolerance of sensory stimulation, and some other cognitive/memory processing.

Spiritual and trauma recovery - is ongoing (big hugs)

Positive Progress:

Joshua is so determined to be of service with his life - he will not be lounging around in recovery that is for sure. The hope that we have offered him so far has encouraged him to keep saying yes to a positive mindset and surrender to the needs of his recovery.

He has people who love him in the community, who will help him to gather what he needs and check in on him. And his international family (Me and you!) can bring the financial means for him to receive what he needs to step into his full power again.

Ongoing Needs and How You Can Help:

Joshua has no family or safety net just the community he’s built through determination and faith. Which includes us! He will not be able to work his motorcycle courier job for months to come, leaving him with no monthly income.

The goal of our efforts are to support Joshua's basic living needs, so he may continue to pour his efforts into building the Tenderhearts Children Initiative and a sustainable future for himself and the children of the community.

Your donations will directly cover:

• A bicycle and wagon for him to make deliveries, to create some income etc.

• Nutritious meals and hydration supplies to fuel his healing.

• Housing / rent / access to the internet

Every contribution, no matter the size, Helps us to lift Joshua so he can keep doing his work for the children in his village.

We’ve raised $1000 so far, when we reach $5,555 CAD (or more) we will empower and encourage Joshua with a full year to recover and commit to developing the Tenderhearts Children Initiative and his own future.

Let’s rally together to show Joshua the same love he’s given to so many.

If you’d like to learn more about Joshua’s inspiring work, check out his Instagram Joshua's Instagram. I have also included a few videos below about the Tenderhearts mission.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. Together, we can help Joshua heal and keep his mission alive. Share this campaign widely—your network could make all the difference!

With gratitude and faith,
