Help John Slattery WIN his battle with cancer

I would like to introduce you to John if you don't know him already. He is a devoted husband of 33 years, father to our 3 children, Samantha, Vance & Marshall, Son of Gloria and Dennis, Brother of Lisa, Jim, Susan, Paul, Heather, and Jim and Uncle to Shelbie, Aiden and Sophia. A water conservationist for over 20 years and rescuer of many insects, and animals drowning in pools and spas, John has been in the pool industry for over 40 years. John has been finding leaks in pools and spas for the last 43 years saving million and millions of gallons of water for South Florida. To John water is life, to which none of us can live without. Saving water is his passion/gift.   

 

John needs your help saving his life. He has esophageal and stomach cancer which has spread to his lymph nodes. He is undergoing two types of chemotherapy once a week and radiation everyday at the same time, to shrink his tumor, then he will have surgery to cut his the bottom of his esophagus and top part of his stomach for reconstruction, which will require him to have a feeding tube until his esophagus and stomach heal. He has not been able to eat solid food that isn't blended since Thanksgiving and has lost 35 pounds in the last couple of months. It takes him an hour or more to eat a meal, but John is determined to keep eating no matter how long it takes to keep him from getting a feeding tube put in him before his surgery. John has worked his whole life but is unable to continue working as he is weak from the tumor blocking the end of his esophagus beginning of his stomach, making a narrow passage for food to pass through. John also has become anemic from blood loss due to internal bleeding from a biopsy.

 

As John is a tradesman in a small business, where there aren't any benefits other than health insurance and 2 weeks vacation. John doesn't qualify for Family Medical Leave Act or Cobra insurance since there is only 10 employees in his company in which he has worked for the last 20 years. We are asking for donations to help pay for his treatment, rent, food, utility bills, and hospital bills while John is unable to work and has no income. The medical bills are piling up, as well as monthly bills. The health insurance company is fighting us every step of the way. Refusing to cover many of his treatment and bills including his hospital stay, which alone is $44,000. John has worked his whole life but now he needs your help.

 

We would appreciate any donations or prayers you could give John, to give him piece of mind that financially and spiritually things are being taken care of so he can focus on healing and returning to his passion and living his best life and conserving water.
