  • Hello everyone, first of all thank you for taking the time to read a part of my story and being here. The first thing I am asking for it is prayers for strenght, clarity and wisdom. I never in my life thought that I; Ivette Marrero Santiago, will be making or asking for help from anyone by doing a go-fund-me. But when there is no other options to avoid a deeper crisis and end up in a worst place with no possibilities to get back in track, it is right at that instant that you have to become realistic and use tools like this one. If you still with me this far, once again; thank you. Since 2024 I faced challenges that I never thought could happened to me... after months of struggles trying to safe the house that once belong to my dad I lost is and moved with my last savings to a a small apartment in a different town, 2 weeks after that happend at the en of May I got laid off from my job, then my credit cards and last emergency savings went to rent, bills, and I went into survival mode... during 5 and a half months went to interviews and nothing moved forward (was doing even doordash to have gas, and not feeling well over all thought my tiredness and body pains were part of the stress of the circumstances). Then in September 2024 Hurricane Helene flooded my car; nore the insurance, FEMA or even the GAP I paid cover the vehicle, and I was too exhausted to figured out how to solve my crisis. By Hurricane Milton was evacuated at friends in Orlando and got some light; finally a job offer (less money but much better circumstances and my goddaugther lend me her vehicle for me to get back in track, I even started a part-timeto put credit cards back in track but I could even walk well at times and I stayed quiet because I had no insurance yet and I needed to pay bills and be proactive but a little more than a month of having the part-timehad to quit. My body was crumbling and I was still blaming stressed. By the beginning of December, the cramping and bleeding was so hard I drove myself to an ER nearby and here is were my new challenges began. Not only I was carrying all monetary set backs from the losses of the house, the previous job, the car, and lower income, but now I was facing Cancer, tests, labs, and more doctor's visits with deductibles that needed to be met in order to be seen, got me back to square one. By February went through surgery with time off from work, and more uncertainty and the news from pathology; I still had endometrial carcinoma, cause the cancer spread the uterus walls, and now needed to start Radiation treatments. Did 30 sessions and still recuperating from the side effects. I am working but my bills continue to piled up. I need this help. I need your prayers, and yes, a $5, a $10, a $20; anything you can send my way will pushed me out of this whole. I am grateful for angels that have help my during this hard times. But I know many have given more than I can expect, and still my long process it is not yet concluded for me to do all on my own. Can you find in you understand why it was so hard for me to create this go-fund-me? If you can assist thank you but if you can pray, and send me all the good vibes of the universe, I even thank you more, I can't wait to see this as a past memory and smile next to my friends and family the way I have always smile. Blessings to all! #thankyou #blessings
The GoFundMe post by Ivette Marrero Santiago reveals a deeply personal and difficult journey through a series of significant setbacks. She begins by expressing her reluctance to ask for help, a sentiment common to many facing hardship who value self-reliance [1]. Her story unfolds with a cascade of unfortunate events starting in 2024.
Initially, Ivette describes the loss of her father's home, followed by a move to a new town with her remaining savings [1]. Shortly after, she faced unemployment, forcing her to rely on credit cards and savings for living expenses [1]. The situation worsened when Hurricane Helene flooded her car in September 2024, an event that wasn't covered by insurance, FEMA, or her GAP coverage [1]. Despite these challenges, she continued to persevere, taking on odd jobs and enduring physical discomfort [1].
A turning point arrived during Hurricane Milton when she found temporary refuge with friends and received a job offer, albeit with a lower income [1]. She even started a part-time job to manage her credit card debt, but her health continued to deteriorate [1]. The severity of her condition became evident in December when she sought emergency medical attention and received a cancer diagnosis [1]. This added a new layer of financial strain with mounting medical bills and deductibles [1].
In February, Ivette underwent surgery for endometrial carcinoma [1]. The cancer had spread, necessitating radiation treatments, which she completed over 30 sessions and is now recovering from the side effects [1]. Despite working, her bills continue to accumulate, leaving her in a difficult financial position [1].
  • Ivette concludes her post by reiterating her need for assistance, both in the form of prayers and financial contributions, no matter how small [1]. She expresses gratitude for the support she has already received and looks forward to a time when these struggles are a distant memory [1]. Her hashtags, #thankyou and #blessings, underscore her appreciation and hopeful outlook [1].
