In September of 2019, our beloved friend, colleague, and family member Idrees Danishpajooh was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. For the last two and a half years, he has fought valiantly through surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and experimental treatments.

Unfortunately, his cancer recurred 9 months ago, and the course hasn’t been easy. While he has adapted to his new disabilities with fortitude and optimism, yesterday, due to his left sided weakness, he injured his ankle during a fall. Now, with all of his other existing physical struggles, he is unable to walk in any capacity for a minimum of 6-12 weeks. This brings new obstacles in his daily life like bathing/using the bathroom, getting in/out of bed, transfers into/out of the car, and other activities of daily living. Idrees, his family, and his neurooncology team are approaching this setback with hope and are determined to keep fighting.

While Idrees and his wife do have insurance to cover many costs, the costs of home care (mobile phlebotomy for labs, in home Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, caregiver while his wife is working) and creating safety in their house (ramps/rails/safety devices) are largely uncovered. The

purpose of this gofundme is to raise money to pay for these additional home health care costs.

The goal is to allow Idrees to maximize the quality of his life of and that of his family, including his wife Anita and their young boys (5-year-old Kiran and 3-year-old Keshav).
