URGENT: Help the Hesham Family Escape from War

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Sundus Tanveer and I am a mother, legal analyst and an activist in the DC metro area, United States. I am fundraising to evacuate my friend, Saleh’s, sisters and their children from war-torn Gaza. I met Saleh Hisham on my humanitarian trip to Cairo, Egypt. Saleh along with his wife and daughter had recently evacuated from Gaza. Despite, the unimaginable suffering and loss his family had endured in Gaza, I found Saleh to be a spirited and positive young man. He left behind two of his married sisters and their families in Rafah, Gaza and is now actively trying to evacuate them before the ground invasion of their city begins.

The funds raised will be used to pay the evacuation fees for the family to cross the Rafah border into Egypt. Currently, the fees are $5000 per adult and $3500 for children under 16.

Please take a moment to learn about Saleh’a family and help him in saving his sisters’ lives:

أهلا and Hello!

My name is Saleh Hesham. I was born in Gaza and lived there until I was forced to flee my home during the recent conflict. I left behind two of my sisters, their husbands and children.

My sister Sabreen and her husband, Muhammad, are both 30 years old.
They have three children - Hanan (8), Ibrahim (6) and Saba (3).

My brother-in-law, Muhammad, has a bachelor’s degree in information technology, but due to high unemployment rates in Gaza, he was unable to find a job in his field. He took up farming as a means of living. Hanan and Ibrahim both attended school prior to the war.

My older sister Fatima is 31 years old and her husband, Sami, is 40. Sami is also a farmer. They have a son named Ahmed (10) and daughter, Tala (8). Both children were in school before the war.

My sisters along with their families lived a modest but safe life. Unfortunately, the ongoing war has wreaked havoc on their lives . Both families are sheltering in Rafah and living in extremely catastrophic situations. There is little no access to clean water, the city is at the brink of famine, spread of disease is prevalent amongst children and to make things worse, Rafah is relentlessly being bombed. There were 27 people killed in one night in my sister’s neighborhood due to heavy shelling and missiles. Ground invasion of forces is an imminent threat which will force them to be displaced again. The children are suffering from psychological trauma inflicted by 7 months of living under war.

Over 70% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed and like many others, my sisters are living in unimaginable conditions.

My sisters need to evacuate to Egypt as soon as possible to save themselves and their children from hunger, disease, and death. Unfortunately, the fees required by Egyptian border control in Rafah crossing are very high. But with your help, I am hopeful to raise enough money to help my sisters evacuate.
