I have spent the last two years scrimping and saving to afford my first home after being kicked out unexpectedly by my ex-partner of 7 years. In July 2025 I finally got the keys to my first home.
Unfortunately the property needed all of it's windows replaced and that ate up what money I'd left and had hoped to spend on the fun things like decorating. Despite working full time I am struggling every month with bills, particularly my heating costs. Too make matters worse, my boiler packed in last week despite it being serviced when I moved in. I've had no hot water in a weak and I am now worried my heating will go. I hate that it has come to this but I'm out of options. I can't get a loan to cover the costs and I don't qualify for any of the support/replacement schemes. I've costed a few different boilers, along with installation and a full system flush which I've been told I need, I'm also including a little extra to cover my electric as I've been having to user plug in electric heaters and an electric blanket more regularly to keep my rooms/bed warm when I need them, and running my kettle constantly just to have hot water for dishes. Whatever you can do to help me out it will be so appreciated because I fully understand I am not the only person out here with financial problems in the current climate.
