My name is Richard Gera and I am the husband of Erin Gera. I am humbly reaching out for help from our community and friends as we face an incredibly difficult time. Erin has struggled with heart issues for the last 12 years, ever since doctors discovered her condition when she was just 17 and pregnant with my stepdaughter. Her journey began with bigeminy PVCs, cardiomyopathy, and myopericarditis, and it has been a rollercoaster for her and our family ever since.

Since Christmas, Erin has been in and out of hospitals, undergoing surgery, countless appointments, and procedures. Despite all this, doctors are still unsure what is causing her unstable blood pressure and heart rhythms, including ventricular tachycardia, bradycardia, atrial fibrillation, bigeminy, and trigeminy. Most recently, she underwent a cardiac ablation on February 23rd, but due to complications with sedation, the surgery could not be completed. Erin has been homebound for over a month, relying on a wheelchair, walker, and home health care because her blood pressure and circulation make daily activities nearly impossible.

We are facing the possibility of another ablation or the need for a pacemaker and defibrillator to keep her heart in rhythm. This uncertainty has brought immense emotional and financial stress to our family. I am currently unemployed so I can care for Erin, and we have no other income. The funds raised will help us cover medical bills, daily expenses, and travel for Erin’s care. Erin is a loving mother to our two beautiful children, a devoted wife, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and sister-in-law.
