My name is Mohammad Hasan Ahmadi, and I am from Afghanistan. For the past 12 years, I have been living in Indonesia with my wife and our two daughters as refugees, officially recognized by UNHCR. During all these years, we have been waiting for resettlement in a safe country, but our future has remained uncertain.
Now, we finally have a chance to move forward — a pathway has opened up through a skilled work visa to Australia. However, I first need to complete required study and training. Once that’s done, we will be able to apply for the Australian work visa through the Talent Beyond Boundaries pathway. But the journey doesn’t end there — we will also need to cover the costs of visas, flights, and relocation.
Unfortunately, refugees in Indonesia are not allowed to work or earn an income, which makes it impossible for us to meet these costs on our own.
Our greatest dream is for our daughters, aged 12 and 6, to attend school, pursue their education, and build a brighter future. As parents, we long for the chance to work hard, live with dignity, and provide safety and stability for our family.
