If you're seeing this, you probably know me personally. If not, that's okay because this isn't about me but about my cat, Digits.
I'm trying to build up money to be able to give Digits all of the medical care he needs right now.
Shortest version: Digits is at the point where he is throwing up daily- sometimes even 3+ times a day- if he doesn't take his medicine. However, he can't have the medicine daily as that eats away his bone marrow. Might be a gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, hopefully something less drastic. He also had heart arrythmia, he skipped a beat sometimes. He needs a GI ultrasound and ECG (reading for his heart).
There may be more charges in the future. I'm not sure where this is going just yet. :(
We've done his heart bloodwork (and other bloodwork previously), so his recommendations look like this:
2993 Medical Progress Exam $81.13
2250 Medical Waste Disposal $5.20
2850 Texas GI TLI/PLI/Cob/Fol $335.90
39653 U/S Abdominal w/ tech $160.69
39651 U/S Idexx Routine (2 days) $354.18
9948 Cardiopet ECG Idexx Routine $225.31
Total: $1,162.41
Full story so far: Back in November 2025, I took Digits to the vet for consistent vomiting at least once a day or every other day. On the day he threw up for a few minutes straight, I took him for an emergency visit. His bloodwork was great, except his thyroid and pancreas enzymes were high. He took medication and seemed to be doing better.
Unfortunately, as of a few weeks ago, we're back to daily vomiting. I took him for another emergency visit when he threw up a few times in one day. We sent bloodwork again and it was all back to normal, but his heart heart was skipping a beat. I got him prescription GI food from Farmina and cut off any extra treats, even the cat-safe ones.
He did well taking the medication again this time around, but Cerenia can't be taken daily for too long as it eats away at his bone marrow. I was instructed to move to every other day and slowly ween him off of the medicine, but every day he doesn't receive it, he throws up at least once. The other day, he threw up 3 times just in the early morning alone.
At this point, he needs an ultrasound to check for gastrointestinal cancer or hopefully something less drastic. He also needs to have his heart issue checked. The estimates above were from the previous visit when I did not have enough to afford it, so we're going piece by piece. I just hope to speed up the process of figuring this out. He does well, then he does very poorly. He's 12 and he's my sweet little thing, I just want to do the best I can for him. I appreciate anyone taking the time to read everything and the well wishes I've received for Digits along the way so far.
