Hi everyone,
I’m 33, a mom to two amazing kids, and this year I finally got answers to 20 years of unexplained illness. I was diagnosed with Type 2M von Willebrand Disease (vWD), a genetic bleeding disorder that has made even small health issues much harder to manage.
After years of struggling, I finally have a medical team that understands my condition and has approved a much-needed surgery scheduled for January 2025. What should have been a simple outpatient procedure has turned into a more complex situation. I’m now looking at a 3-7 day hospital stay, along with a long list of pre-surgery requirements: blood work, iron infusions, plasma infusions, and extra precautions to keep me safe.
On top of all that, I’ll need to take 8 weeks off work, unpaid, to fully recover. Between medical bills, endless pre-surgical treatments, and everyday expenses while I’m out of work, the financial burden is overwhelming.
I’m reaching out for support to help cover these costs so I can focus on healing and being there for my kids.
Any amount—big or small—would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you can offer. I appreciate it more than you know.
With gratitude,
Dezarae
