Help Davit To Keep His Place at the University

Hi dear reader, I am Davit a second-year international Armenian student at the University of Minnesota majoring in Political Science and minoring in Business Law.

I have created this fundraiser to raise $3.000 to continue my studies and pursue my passion for human rights and international law and pay off the tuition debt I owe to the university. Not paying will result in losing my student status and student visa. My deadline to pay off my tuition debt is the end of this August.

The Challenge:

I am facing a financial emergency that puts my dreams and aspirations at risk. To continue my studies and pursue my passion for human rights and international law, I need to raise $3,000 to pay off my tuition debt before the end of August.

Short about me:

I come from a humble background, raised in a small village where access to education was limited. Despite the odds stacked against me, I persevered and earned scholarships and competitive honors that brought me to the University of Minnesota.

My decision to devote myself to a career in law and political science and advocate for peace was deeply influenced by the events of the Artsakh war in 2020. Witnessing the suffering and pain of my fellow Armenians compelled me to dedicate my life to promoting peace and justice.

As a future lawyer, I am driven to protect people facing the violation of international humanitarian laws and more specifically protect Armenia's interests in international courts and promote pro-Armenian and pro-peace initiatives.

Academic Achievements

I have come through a lot and due to my hard work and indomitable spirit, I manage to break through the financial burdens as a poor village boy to come and study in a top-ranked US university. I have won various competitive honors and awards, such as:

Currently, I am the president of the UofM branch of the Armenian Student Association and the Co-President of the Multicultural Undergraduate Political Science Coalition at UofM.

Finances

Despite coming from a low-income family that cannot afford my education, it did not stop me to pursue higher education. So I found a sponsor from Armenia. However, my financial sponsor backed out of their promise to continue to fund my studies given the COVID-19 and economic crisis reasons. I got two part-time jobs and competed for scholarship awards.

Balancing work and school has been a struggle, however, giving up has never been an option for me.

Time is of the essence, and I have exhausted all other options. If I don't pay off my tuition debt by the end of August, I risk losing my student status and visa, jeopardizing everything I've worked so hard for.

I am kindly asking you to make a donation of any amount you wish or can.
