Dana is in critical condition and needs our help!

Hi, I am Linda Dugan. Tonya Johnson and I are fundraising for Dana Granburg who is currently fighting for her life. As some of you know she was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer and just started her first chemo treatment on August 9th. In less than 3 days she started experiencing chills, fever and body aches. She has developed a terrible infection in her port that has traveled to her heart and has damaged a heart valve. They are concerned that she may have suffered a stroke and is currently on a ventilator fighting for her life at St Luke’s on the plaza. She has a team of doctors working around the clock and of course the love of her life, Carlin by her side.

Her port was removed yesterday and they are waiting on the results of the culture so they can hit the infection hard with the proper antibiotics. Once the infection is resolved, there is a good chance she will be having heart surgery to repair the valve. They are hopeful that she will be able to come off the vent in the next few days. Her chemo treatment will have to be put on hold until she can recover from this infection and her heart valve is working correctly. We are asking for donations to help Dana and Carlin cover lost wages and the cost of their current bills and mounting future medical bills. We want to provide them with funds now, so Carlin can be by her side, where he should be and not worry about anything else.

Dana has spent her entire career working with seniors and has always put her residents and co-workers first. We are lucky to have her as part of our team at ComfortCare Homes of Kansas City. The residents and staff miss her dearly! I hope you can find it in your heart to give what you can, and send positive thoughts, vibes and prayers her way in order to help Dana win the fight of her life!
