Help cover funeral costs for Jason Skelton- by April Yvette
Donation protected
Hi, I'm April Yvette Sedun. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My brother Jason Skelton passed away suddenly on July 13, 2025. He was only 46.
We’re now planning his funeral service for Saturday, July 19, and I’m asking for help to cover the cost so my mom, Cathy Skelton, doesn’t have to carry this burden alone. Your donation will directly help cover funeral costs for Jason: funeral service fee and viewing costs, embalming, casket, burial costs, digging grave, head stone, etc.
My brother Jason had been battling Myotonic Dystrophy for a few years, a disease that slowly weakened his muscles. He was recently in the hospital for pneumonia, and after a slight improvement, they sent him back to the assisted living home. Later that night, he had trouble breathing again—and they couldn’t save him.
If you knew Jason, you knew he was a kind soul—quiet, stubborn in his own way, and full of heart. He loved movies (especially Star Wars), animals, nature, and science. His dream was to be a marine biologist. The photo was taken the dayI visited him just a few months ago, and we talked about childhood memories—like when he used to run around the house at 6 years old in his underwear in a cape shouting, “I’m Superman!” He said he wanted to try walking again. That still sticks with me.
Jason wasn’t perfect (none of us are), but he was deeply loved. He will be missed.
In the last 2.5 years, my mom has buried my other brother Eric, her husband Arthur (my step dad), my dad Daniel and now Jason. My heart breaks for my mom for all this loss and grief.
Thank you for praying for our family and for sharing this gofundme page.
If you feel led to give anything—no matter how small—I’m so grateful. It will go directly toward helping my mom cover Jason’s funeral expenses.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your love.
