Help Christian and Family Battle Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected
To Family, Friends and Strangers,

Late last year, in September, my best friend, partner of over 15years and father of are 2 kids Christian Roman  went to the doctors for what we thought was a sore neck from sleeping wrong. Little did we know our family would be tested and changed forever. Within weeks of that initial visit, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at 32 years old. Further testing along with the biopsy confirmed that diagnosis. It was all happening so fast, and before we could digest this and talk about it as a family, Christian was told his final diagnosis before treatment was stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He put on a brave face like he always does while I questioned how this could happen and so fast, but Chris immediately put his mind to finding a way to beat this. The cancer was in his liver, spleen, bone marrow, blood and too many lymph nodes to count.  Doctors wanted to be very aggressive with chemotherapy treatment and start right away. The first cycle of chemo is 4 chemotherapy drugs given all at once , each session is about 8 hours and the whole cycle is a little over 6months, which he started shortly after thanksgiving and is 2/3 completed.

I am so proud and amazed by his outlook on everything. He has his days, and sometimes it's hard but he always fights to show everything is normal and fine to everyone around him. Because this was unexpected we are quickly going threw savings. Christian has not worked since this happened although if up to him he would go right now. Thankfully insurance has covered most things but the longer this goes on the more bills pile up . Something we immediately were confronted with that made us realize money would play a role, was the fertility doctor. There is a high chance after chemo Chris would have fertility problems. We were advised to see a doctor to preserve the option to have kids in the future. Insurance wouldn't cover it and with only 10 days to make a decision before he started chemo we decided it was not an expense we would pay with the future so uncertain. Had money not been a factor we definitely would have done it. Certain exams and blood work is not covered and a few times we have had to pay different medications just to keep his treatment going. If left up to Chris I would not be doing this go fund me but I have talked him into it plus the doctors and nurses were on my side to try it.

This has taken an emotional and physical toll. From the physical changes to sleepless nights throwing up, mouth sores, broken teeth and the extreme bone pain that randomly appears. His fight continues. Fortunately doctors feel positive his body is responding to treatment. To what extent we won't fully know till the very end. His test and pet scan at the halfway point showed very good progress . Chris wants to worry about the now and not look ahead but I have faith .
Any contribution will be going towards current and future medical bills, medicine and any other expense needed on this journey. If anything is left over it will go towards rebuilding after this is behind us and repairing any damage from the side effects from chemotherapy.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We appreciate any support people have given to us during this difficult time. No amount of help is to small and if you cant contribute financially, please share the campaign with others.
