On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Chris and Julie Breedlove lost their home and all of its contents in a house fire. Chris was a long-time controller and NATCA member at Indianapolis ATCT, and I had the privilege of working with him for most of my tenure there. He retired before I did and moved to Florida, becoming a year-round resident of Nettles Island (Celebrity Island) several years ago.
Chris’s wife, Julie, is a familiar face at the Snack Bar at the Ocean pool, and their son, Christopher, works at Bob’s. Chris often helps out with side jobs on Nettles as his retirement side hustle. I visit Chris regularly, and seeing firsthand how much this loss has impacted him and his family has been heartbreaking. This family has always been active in their community and quick to lend a hand to others. Now, they are facing the unimaginable loss of their home and everything in it.
I’m asking for your support to help Chris and Julie with immediate living needs and essentials while they work through the long-term process of rebuilding. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference as they navigate this difficult time. Please consider helping them get back on their feet. Thank you for your kindness and support.
