I am starting this GoFundMe for a dear friend of mine, Casey Louque. I am pleading for everyone who reads this to put yourself in Casey’s shoes.
Casey was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her bones. Her oncologist told her there is no cure only treatment and that she has 5 years to live. So that means for the next and last years of her life she’s got to fight everyday to be here! Her health insurance has denied one of her monthly medications and she’s getting hospital bills in her mailbox daily.
Casey has gone through so many hardships for her young age of 43.
Her 2nd daughter Layla was born on 1-2-14 full term healthy baby girl! The day before she was discharged from the hospital they discovered Layla had an interrupted aortic arch in her heart. Which is a rare condition preventing blood from flowing Thru the baby’s body. Layla was sent to Children’s in Nola for care. When Layla was just 21 days old they decided she needed open heart surgery. Because of the swelling they couldn’t close her chest, only with a clear wrap and Casey watched Layla’s actual heart beating for 7 days! After an excruciating 6 months living at the hospital with Layla in ICU, Casey was called in. When she walked into the room she fainted at the horrific site of her precious baby girl. Layla was bleeding from every orifice of her little bitty body. The doctors told Casey to call Everyone because this is the end. They were keeping Layla alive with epinephrine so her family members could tell her goodbye! Then they unplugged the machine, handed her to Casey and Layla died right there in her arms!
In 2017 she was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. She Underwent chemotherapy and radiation for over a year and celebrated being 5 years in remission! Two months later her oncologist ordered a CT scan which she had never done in the five years of Casey’s remission. This is when they found the breast cancer had metastasized to her bones! I don’t know how this could’ve been overlooked and left undiagnosed for so long! This seems like medical negligence and someone should be held accountable! And to know that it could’ve been prevented and treated if found earlier in Casey’s treatment. But now to give her a five-year life expectancy is just outrageous and atrocious!
Casey has gone through more things than anyone should ever have to go through in one lifetime. She comes back stronger and she’s fighting the whole time. She is fighting for her daughter, Taylor, and her 2 year old granddaughter, Mila Rose. To add to the list of hardships, Casey just found out her mom has congestive heart failure.
Casey has overcome so much in this lifetime she should have her remaining years filled with joy, family and friends. She should not have to fight for insurance coverage or Medicaid!
I am pleading for financial help for prescriptions, hospital & doctor bills to make her life as stress free as possible, please help?!
Just imagine if this were your mother, daughter, sister, friend who was given only more 5 years to live!
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity and help.
