Butch Smith has been a cornerstone of the music scene long before most of us even knew it existed. With his incredible skill in mixing sound, Butch has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make every band he’s collaborated with sound better than ever. He’s not just a friend to me, but to so many of us, and he would give anything to be behind that mixer again.

In January, Butch was brutally attacked, leaving him with a severe concussion, blurred vision, and an inability to regain his balance. After months of rehabilitation, he was recently admitted to the hospital and underwent brain surgery to address the trauma caused by this senseless act of violence.

I’m reaching out to my friends, fellow musicians, and anyone who has worked with Butch or knows someone who has to come together and support him. Butch has a long recovery ahead of him, and we miss him more than words can express. This fundraiser will go directly to Butch to cover whatever he needs during this time.

Sadly, on top of everything else, Butch’s landlord has informed him that the property is being sold, and he has until the end of April to move out. So, in addition to healing, Butch now faces the challenge of finding a place to live.
