Help Us Bring Our Beloved Pastor Romildo Home.
Our family never imagined we would be writing something like this.
With broken hearts, we are asking for your help after the tragic and unexpected loss of our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, Pastor Romildo Batista de Lima, who lost his life during the devastating earthquake in Venezuela on June 24th.
He dedicated his life to serving others through his faith, with perseverance and diligence, and touching countless lives with his compassion, humility, and unwavering love.
Romildo had traveled to Venezuela with his wife, Carlha Nacarid, to visit her family and celebrate his birthday on june 21st. In a matter of seconds, everything changed. During the earthquake, a wall collapsed on them. Romildo was rescued and taken to the hospital, but despite every effort, he did not survive.
Carlha Nacarid, survived the earthquake but suffered severe injuries, including two broken legs and a fractured pelvis. She will undergo the surgeries she urgently needs in Venezuela, and the funds raised will also help cover the medical expenses associated with her treatment and recovery.
Romildo was more than a pastor. He was the heart of our family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father of Daniel DeLima and a proud grandfather of 3 grandchildren, a caring brother, and a faithful friend.
His final wish, and his family’s wish is for him to be laid to rest in Brazil, beside his mother and surrounded by the rest of his family. Bringing him home has become an overwhelming financial burden during an already unimaginable time.
The funds raised will help cover:
*Bringing Romildo’s body from Venezuela to Brazil.
*Carlha’s surgeries and medical expenses in Venezuela as she begins the long road to recovery.
*Romildo’s immediate family’s travel from Los Angeles to Uberlandia, Brazil to attend his funeral and be together during this heartbreaking time.
*Funeral and burial expenses in Uberlândia, Brazil.
We have spent the last several days desperately trying every possible avenue for help. We reached out to government agencies and anyone we thought could assist us, hoping they could help bring Romildo home and help Carlha get the medical care she needs. Sadly, despite all of our efforts, we have not received the support we were praying for.
It is incredibly difficult for our family to ask for help, but today we have no other choice.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount, you will be helping us bring our loved one home and giving Carlha a chance to recover. And if you cannot donate, we ask that you please share this campaign and keep our family in your prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and for standing with our family during the most painful time of our lives. We will never forget your generosity.
The DeLima family and I Luciene Ferreira, (Romildo's niece) are grateful for all your prayers and love.
