Many of you know our incredible friend Tom Pollard by his stage/nickname, Big T.

 

Big T recently experienced a pretty rare medical occurrence known as a spinal stroke and he is currently paralyzed from the waist down. He has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks now, undergoing multiple tests and procedures with little to no improvement so far, just to come to this diagnosis.

 

His possible road to recovery is serious and scary, but not hopeless! He will need many months of inpatient rehab and physical therapy to hopefully be able to walk again. Even with insurance, the medical bills are mounting up already.

Tom is devastated about not being able to be home with his wife Lorilynn and stepson Bradley every day, and for a long time to come it seems. In addition, it looks like he is going to lose his job. Backstory: He was recently recruited for a higher responsibility/better paying position in his field, but because it has been less than 12 months since his switch, he doesn’t qualify for FMLA yet. 

This wonderful family has already seen its fair share of struggles. In 2020, Big T’s wife Lorilynn was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through months and months of chemo and waiting until Covid restrictions lifted enough for her to have a double mastectomy to save her life. Lori’s health scare has already taken a tough toll on their family. Now with Big T out of work for who knows how long and ever-growing medical bills, they are terrified.

Big T, Tom, has brought so much happiness and light to so many lives over the years. Becoming “Big T” again is going to be a huge struggle for Tom, but he’s willing to fight for it as his most beloved joy is entertaining others. Any help you can give is truly appreciated. All donations will go directly to the Pollards and will be put toward medical costs and helping to support Lori and Bradley while Tom is in the hospital/rehab.
