Our furry family has had an incredibly tough year. We recently lost Hershey (who's been with us 19 years) and  Bailey, who just turned 25, needs constant medical support for his arthritis & seizures.

Now, our other rescue siblings—Bacardi and Mojito—need urgent vet surgeries. 

After nearly two months of vet visits & antibiotic treatments, for what we thought was a stubborn upper respiratory infection, Bacardi’s now been diagnosed with a severe tooth resorption — a condition that causes teeth to deteriorate from the inside out, leading to painful lesions in/around the roots and exposed nerves. The infection has spread to her right eye and our vet has moved her scheduled emergency surgery up to this Friday.

As if that weren’t enough, her brother Mojito has also begun showing symptoms — smacking his gums, pawing at his mouth, and refusing to eat because of the pain. Now he too needs dental surgery.

Without immediate treatment, the infections could lead to more serious complications.

Each surgery is estimated to cost between $2,800 and $3,200, including x-rays, bloodwork, anesthesia, extractions, and follow-up medication. We’ve already spread ourselves thin, covering multiple vet visits and treatments, and with both of them needing urgent surgery -the costs have become more than we can manage alone.
