Help April Fight for Her Life and Access Life-Saving Care

Hello my name is Jeannie I am making this go fund me for April Shehorn. I've known April majority of my life.

April is a devoted mother of three beautiful children, but right now, her health is rapidly deteriorating, and she needs our help to survive.

April has been battling multiple serious health conditions, including Crohn’s disease, anemia, and most recently, a rare vascular condition known as Nutcracker Syndrome (NCS). This syndrome is so rare that there are only a handful of specialists in the country who can treat it—and most of them do not accept her insurance.

Since November 2024, April has been waiting to see a vascular surgeon. In just these few months, her kidney function has declined significantly, putting her life at serious risk. Without timely treatment, she could face permanent damage or even kidney failure.

♡ The Struggle to Get Care

The rarity of NCS has made April’s journey extremely difficult. Specialists are limited, and those who can treat her either won’t accept her insurance or require months-long wait times. Every day of waiting is a day her body is getting weaker. Meanwhile, her Crohn’s disease and anemia are compounding her struggles, leaving her exhausted, malnourished, and unable to work.

She is a single mother carrying the weight of raising three children while fighting for her life. The stress of overdue bills, medical responsibilities, and trying to keep her home stable for her kids has become overwhelming.

* Help her seek out-of-network specialists who can review her medical records, order the necessary tests, and possibly intervene sooner to prevent further kidney damage.
